Surgical working group for minimally invasive surgery (CAMIC)

The surgical working group for minimally invasive surgery (Chirurgische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für minimal-invasive Chirurgie - CAMIC) was founded by the chairmen of the DGCH and the DGGAV on May 3, 2000, on the occasion of the 117th annual conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chirurgie in Berlin. 

Tasks

  1. Standardization, coordination and certification of education and training in minimally invasive surgery.
  2. Standardization and  further development of operation techniques.
  3. Quality assurance.
  4. Inauguration and coordination of comparative studies with conventional techniques.
  5. Coordination of collaborations with the industry with regard to education and training, as well as the development of new technologies.
  6. Representation of German interests in international societies and society journals.
